NECROPHAGUS aka Graveyard of Horror aka The Butcher of Binbrook- 1971 - Spain - Spanish Horror - Released by Mago Video in Spanish in the US and ALL- American Video in English Dubbed version.
Stars: Bill Curran, Frank Brana, and Catherine Ellison. The Mago VHS Release is definitely C-Grade. Both sound and picture are sub-par. In fact the movie it self is one big let down.
It doesn't live up to its awesome cover design by any means.
Best left to horror fans scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

Carmen Sevilla stars as a sexy historian and book worm who tries to tame the uneducated and womanizing fashion photographer played by Jose Rubio .
Both characters end up getting a complete make over.
Directed by Agustin Navarro during the heavily censored days of Spain film studios. Sexy comedies such as these had to resort to lots of leg shots and foggy shower scenes in which to feature their leading ladies.
Here the gorgeous Carmen Sevilla does extremely well considering her shapely legs and busty cleavage.
Video Notes:
The picture quality on this Mago video release is brilliant. All around it is an above average battle of the sexes comedy. If you ever get a chance to see it look for a Mirta Miller cameo in the opening sequence.

TRAMPA INOCENTE - 1978
Hilda Vera stars in this extremely obscure film released on Mago Video in the US. She also starred in the more famous Venezuela film Pez Que Fuma ( the smoking fish) from director Roman Chalbaud. Pez Que Fuma was also released by Mago.The plot concerns a young orphan in small village who seeks revenge against the men that raped her.
I'm not too familiar with the film but always loved the striking cover design.

From the director of the romantic sci-fi yarn Largo Retorno ( a long return ) and also "La Historia Negra De Peter P. Peter " A horror comedy concerning a mysterious mansion and a possessed cat. Features the familiar cast of luscious Spanish ladies. Including Paul Naschy vixens Mirta Miller & Rosanna Yani. Another obscure 70's flick released in the US by Mago video in only its original Spanish language without subtitles. Still no DVD release last time I checked but it definitely deserves one. Pedro Lazaga is an acclaimed film director from Spain who produced an incredibly diverse array of films. Siete Vidas Del Gato is another gem from the Mago video label. Scarcely reviewed on the internet and very hard to find.
This sexy comedy has a super stylish production value. Including an Ultra Hip animated opening credit sequence with that devilish cat.

Filled with sexy stars from Spain B-Movie fame. The film is wacky at times with its over the top slap stick humor. But always sexy and fast paced. Actually, The Vampire bite scene is one of the best I've ever seen!
I love the retro illustration on this Mago US VHS Release.

Amazing illustration on this very rare us release of the Spain Cult Classic from 1977. Bond Babe Sue Vanner stars as a women set out to avenge her dying mother. Spain B-Movie actress Helga Line also stars. There also was a dubbed English language release which is even harder to find then this one. Released as "Chase A Black Cat" (see pic of Chase Black Cat VHS below)

One of the best covers from the MAGO label which released mostly films from Spain. Including some real lost treasures like Historia Negra De Peter P Peter. This cover stands out as one of the best for its illustration and over all design. I hope to post some other stand outs from MAGO video label that rarely appear anywhere on the internet.

The husband schemes to kill his wife who is setting up her own trap in which to kill him. Hence, a vicious and comedic game of cat-and-mouse ensues as the elaborate plans for murder only manage to hurt the accomplice and not the intended victim. Amazing Cinematography and characters. Erotic Costumes and Scenarios. Must see brilliant performances by Analia Gade and Jose Luis Lopez Vazquez. The best film under the Mago video label. A film that is still timely and provocative. I will post some other films from this famous and prolific director including "Las Siete Vidas Del Gato".
